Ding ding ding ding (the cowbell…) C'mon honey let's get a pic!!
I used to play competetive hockey, but I had to quit because of skiing. I started playing house league which was fun, but defnitely not as exciting. Roni and I treid to find a hockey league in collingwood…an unsuccessful attempt. I always used to play soccer in the spring, but didn't this year because of a certain broken bone...and was in collingwood until June. I also like tennis, golf and basketball, although I was never serious about them. If I could learn how to play one sport, it would be rugby. I also love playing guitar, and reading the occasional book. Tye-dying is a favourite activity.
My original reason for choosing the NSA was because it is the perfect balance between skiing and school. Over the past year spent here though, I have realized it is much more than that. The environment created is a prime learning space, both on and off the hill. There is no pressure to produce results, there is only focus on the process. That, in my opinion, is one of the best things about the Academy. I never felt burdened or pressured by anyone to do well, which in turns help you do well! The Academy is an opportunity to develop life skills, as well as athletics and academics. I am so happy I took advantage of that opportunity.
DANCE PARTIES!! Although they don’t always end well…(ahem broken bones) but they are SO much fun…and great cardio too… Switzerland is a dream, there are too many memories to recite them all. Saas-Fee is small and beautiful, and the glacier is fantastic. Excursion is tons of fun and a great break from skiing. Van rides, which include seat dancing and singing (much to Nick's despair), eating, sleeping, making plans such as "PROM", that never end up happening, and crazy amounts of laughter. There are so many great memories that will never be forgotten!!
