JURG GFELLER, K2 Coach
Jurg is a founding member and has been the NSA Director for the past 25 years.
Before becoming the Director and a Coach at the National Ski Academy Jurg was coaching with the Canadian National men’s Ski Team for 5 years, where he Coached at World Cup, World Championship and Olympic Games.
CHRIS DANIELS, FIS Mens Coach
This is Chris' 3rd year at the NSA with the Men’s FIS team. With over 20 years experience, 15 yrs coaching in France, where Chris founded and ran the Alpine Performance Ski Team based in Meribel, a racing and training program for international FIS athletes. This included summer training in New Zealand/Australia and Pre-Season Camps held on many different glaciers in Europe. Many of the athletes involved in Chris’ program have moved on to success on the Europa cup and World Cup Circuits.
NICK KWASNIAK, Director Injury Prevention Program,
FIS Ladies Coach
Nick is in his 5th year at the NSA, working with the woman's FIS team and overseeing the conditioning and injury prevention program. Nick has returuned to us after a short sojurn with the Vancouver Ski Team. Nick origionaly came to the NSA from the Sun Peaks Alpine Club, where he was the Program Director. He has been involved in a variety of coaching roles in his 25 yrs in the business.
SAMI PIANA, Post Grad & Sr. FIS Coach
Sami has been with the NSA for the past 5 yrs and is now coaching the Post Grad and Sr. FIS teams. He has his Masters in Sport Management and his full European coaching education. Sami has worked in the ski racing industry in Europe, the US and Australia. Sami grew up in the Italian Alps and returns home every sumer.
MELODY McCAGE, FIS Coach
Melody is a certified level 3 Coach and level 3 Instructor. Last season she coached in Bormio Italy as a Jr. FIS Coach. Melody will assist Nick with the implementation of the injury prevention program.
Melody has her Wrestling Coach's certificate and has won many wrestling tournaments over the past years. She is also a qualified gymnastics coach and competes in mountain and street bike races.
BOB Campbell, Assistant Coach
As the father of NSA alumni Shannon Campbell, Bob has been a long time supporter of the the NSA. Bob's passion for ski racing can be seen at the top of race courses helping our athletes to be their best on race day.
